Aaran is a participatory designer and engagement practitioner with a specific interest in intersectional voices, racial equity and queer narratives.

During their MA from the London School of Architecture, they explored the intersections of race, queerness and spatial justice. As well as participatory and bottom-up community-led approaches to engagement design and city making through a decolonial lens.

Aaran is also a freelance illustrator, artist and organizer for QTPOC (Queer, Trans, People of Colour) grassroots organizations, and co-founded a design collective bringing together diverse voices to work on intersectional equity centered design and engagement. They presented their work alongside the collective at the 2021 London Festival of Architecture symposium, as part of a panel exploring the theme of care in the context of Community Engagement and Infrastructure and possible solutions for the future.
